This safari tour takes the participant on a unique adventure through the west of the remarkable island country of Madagascar. It visits two famous landmark destinations: The Alley of the Baobabs and the "tsingy" of Bemaraha. The Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park is a "stone forest" made up of eroded jagged limestone peaks that feature vertical cliffs, caves, crevices and gorges. The word "tsingy" means "where one cannot walk barefoot". The pinnacles are home to a surprising diversity of wildlife species, including Madagascar's flagship specie, the lemur. Birds, crocodiles, and even the famous fossa can be seen here. There is a suspended rope bridge spanning a gorge in the park; crossing it is an thrilling experience for adventurous travelers. The tour also visits the legendary Alley of the Baobabs, a simple road lined with spectacular giant baobab trees, which make for breathtaking panoramas. These distinctive trees are sometimes called "upside-down" trees, with their thick trunks topped by root-like branches. The Alley is especially beautiful at sunrise and sunset. A short way away, the "Baobabs in Love" can be seen- these are two interlaced baobab trees that are the subject of local legend.
