The West Coast and Kalahari Safari Tour is an epic journey through the arid yet beautiful regions of South Africa's west coast. This part of the country is rich in natural beauty and is home to fascinating landscapes and plenty of wildlife. At certain times of the year (August/September) the region can burst into life thousands of colourful flowers blooming. The tour starts in the picturesque West Coast National Park, home to an array of habitat types, wildlife species, and birdlife. The tour then visits the Cederberg Wilderness Area, where guests will find trails, waterfalls, unique fynbos vegetation, and ancient Bushman rock art paintings. Take a nature walk out to the waterfall, where you can swim, visit the Bushman paintings, and enjoy wine-tastings in this region. The tour then moves further north, visiting the Augrabies Falls National Park, and moves onto the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in the Kalahari. This desert consists of unique landscapes and red sand dunes, and is home to an extraordinary diversity of wildlife species, including black-maned lions. The tour then moves south along long roads that stretch out over the sparse landscape. The vast, remote landscapes and the star-filled night skies are breathtaking. The tour visits the quaint town of Calvinia, before stopping over at Tankwa Karoo National Park. An all-encompassing and unforgettable journey indeed!
