7-Day Horseback Safari Trail
This thrilling tour takes guests on a horseback safari adventure through the wilds of Botswana and South Africa. On the 7-night trail, guests will explore reserves in both countries from horseback, much as early explorers once did. Accommodation each night is provided in comfortable tented suites, where the soft beds and hot showers are gratefully welcomed after a day of riding. In South Africa, the tour will take you through the wooded mountains of the Waterberg, where you will track giraffe, eland, wildebeest, zebra and kudu. Sunset Lake provides thrilling opportunities to canter through the water and spot resident hippos. You will visit a Big 5 game reserve for the chance to encounter Africa’s famous big game species, and enjoy a refreshing swim with the horses in one of the reserve’s many lakes. Crossing over to Botswana, your adventure will continue in the Mashatu Game Reserve in the Tuli region, known as the “Land of the Giants”. Enormous baobabs dot the landscape, while massive herds of elephants roam the plains. Here, you can also hope to spot lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena.
