This safari tour takes guests to two national parks in Tanzania: Saadani and Mikumi. These parks are located on the Southern Circuit of the country, which is less crowded than the very busy Northern Circuit. This allows for a more relaxed and exclusive safari experience. After arriving in Dar es Salaam, guests head to Saadani National Park. This park is unique in that it is the only wildlife sanctuary in East Africa situated on the Indian Ocean coastline. You may enjoy the rare sight of terrestrial wildlife on the beach! A game drive in the park will give you a chance to encounter a myriad wildlife species, including elephant, lion, leopard, hippo, hyena and jackal. Look out for turtles on the beach! You spend 3 nights in Saadani, enjoying sunset and sunrise game drives. Optional safari activities include walking safaris and boating safaris. On day 4, you head to Mikumi National Park, where you again enjoy superb game-viewing. The park's open floodplains and Miombo woodlands are home to a variety of species, including lion, elephant, and buffalo, with smaller game species such as antelope, kudu and eland also found in abundance. Mikumi is also a birder's paradise, with over 400 recorded species. You spend the last night last of the tour in Mikumi, before heading back to Dar es Salaam, enjoying game-viewing en-route.
