Ruwesi Canoe Trail
Experience an African safari from a completely new perspective. The Ruwesi Canoe Trail takes place on the mighty Zambezi River in Zimbabwe's Mana Pools National Park. The park is vast and beautiful, and is home to a wonderful variety of wildlife species. Experience the thrill of navigating your way past hippos and crocodiles, floating past herds of elephants, and looking out for the elusive leopard. The canoe trails are fully guided, led by knowledgeable and experience paddlers, and are suitable for everyone- no previous experience is required. A game drive vehicle follows the trail with your luggage and personal belongings. A minimum three-night tour is recommended, and each night, a wilderness camp is set up in advance in a different location. After a thrilling day of paddling and game-viewing, your spacious Meru-style tent is very welcome. It comes complete with an en-suite bathroom with a flush toilet and hot-water bucket shower. Delicious meals are served, enjoyed out in the bush under the stars. Guided bush walks and game drives are also part of this safari tour, providing a further chance to explore the amazing wilderness of Mana Pools.
