Madagascar Northern Tour

This 8-day safari tour showcases the best of northern Madagascar. The north of this incredible island is home to several nature reserves, and is high in biodiversity and natural beauty. The port of Diego Suarez, or Antsiranana, is used as a base from which to explore several exciting destinations in the region. First, the tour visits Amber Mountain National Park, where a volcanic mountain range and forests are home to a diversity of wildlife species, as well as crater lakes and waterfalls. The tour visits the Ankarana Reserve, where the curious phenomenon of the "tsingy" limestone can be seen: unusual geological formations with sharp points that are sometimes referred to as a "stone forest". A wealth of species is found in the reserve, including several species of lemur. Visitors can spend ages exploring the reserve's caves, sunken potholes, and forests. This tour also features a coastal element. The 3 stunning Bays of Diego Suarez are visited on day 5 of the tour, and the tranquil tropical island of Nosy Be is the last destination on the tour. Here, guests can enjoy world-class diving and snorkelling, and head out to explore the waters and forests of the small neighbouring islands. On Nosy Komba, half-tamed lemurs may even eat out of your hand! The tour also includes several bonus experiences, such as passing through a sapphire-mining village and visiting a cacao plantation.
