Madagascar Baobabs and Lemurs Tour
The fascinating island country of Madagascar is a truly remarkable safari and nature destination. Rich in biodiversity, the country is home to approximately 200000 species, with about 150000 endemic to the island. Perhaps the most well-known species of Madagascar and its lemurs and baobabs. On this safari tour, guests are taken on an 8-day adventure through this incredible continent for a chance to encounter the lemurs and baobabs. Lemurs are endemic to Madagascar. These endearing primates are found in the country's forests and protected areas. You will visit the Kirindy Forest, where you will have the chance to see the mouse lemur, the smallest of the species. In the Andasibe-Mantadia National Park, look out for the famous indri lemur, the largest lemur famous for its strange wailing call. You will stop at the Peyrieras Reserve, where the dancing sifaka lemur can be seen- these lemurs appear to be dancing as they move across the forest floor.
On the tour, you will also visit the legendary Avenue of the Baobabs, a plain dirt road fringed with majestic towering baobabs on either side. This spectacular sight is best enjoyed at sunrise and sunset- have your camera ready!
Bonus experiences on this tour include a city tour of Antananarivo, and important cultural and historical site visits, with a chance to sample traditional Malagasy cuisine.
