There is no better way to get up close to nature that on a walking safari. Walking through the bush enables you to experience the sights, sounds, smells and even tastes of your surroundings on a level that is not possible from the back of a safari vehicle. The Hluhluwe Wilderness Walking Trails are ideal for those who want this experience, along with the thrill of camping out in the wilderness. There are five overnight trails available, ranging from between 2 night/3 day trails to 4 night/5 day trails. Each trail involves different degrees of walking, with various levels of wilderness camping, but all trails are fully catered and led by professional armed guides. The trails take place in wilderness tracts in the Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. This Big 5 reserve is made up of 96 000 hectares of rolling hills, savannah woodland and riverine forests. Walking through the reserve, you will have the chance to encounter a plethora of wildlife species. Navigating through the wilderness, crossing rivers and surrounded by the magical African bushveld, this is an experience you won't forget.
