Although the gorilla trekking is the main focus of this popular overland camping tour, there is also chimpanzee trekking, boat cruising, pygmy visits, orphanage visits, bird-watching and other activities to keep you entertained. The tour departs from Uganda's capital Kampala before travelling down to Lake Bunyonyi with its dramatic island scattered views. After this its time to search for the magnificent gorillas of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Here we use local guides who know the forest intimately to track, find and approach gorillas in their family units. The tour is capped off with a visit to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will go on a game drive in search of lions and elephants. For those keen on more primates there is the option to go trekking for wild chimpanzees at Lake George before heading back to Kampala. This is a fantastic overland tour that offers exceptional value for money for a primate tour.
