Visit the famous island of Zanzibar, located off the coast of the east African country of Tanzania. Zanzibar is famous for its pristine white sand beaches, abundant marine life, and vibrant, colourful streets steeped in history. This 6-day tour starts off in Stone Town, where you visit a number of important historical sites. These include an old slave market, as well as the Sultan Palace, from where Zanzibar was ruled historically. Zanzibar is also renowned worldwide for its spices- you visit a spice plantation on day 2. You visit a “slave cave”, to see where slavery was illegally continued after it was abolished. You then travel to a seaside resort, where you are able to relax in the tranquil surroundings at leisure. A variety of excursions are available. Visit Jozani Forest, where you can take a guided nature trail to see many endemic species, including the Zanzibar leopard and Zanzibar red Colobus monkey. Take advantage of the excellent snorkelling and diving opportunities on the island.
