This unique safari tour is the first of its kind in the world. On the tour, you will have the chance to be in the presence of endangered mountain gorillas in the forests of Uganda. However, unlike other gorilla trekking safaris where only one hour is allowed, this safari tour allows you to spend 4 hours with the gorillas, for a chance to see how they are habituated. You will be accompanied by researchers and will get to observe the way they go about their daily lives- the way they move, feed, play and interact, and even the way they behave with the baby gorillas. Part of the experience is the hike that you take to get to the gorillas- you will walk for several hours in the forest in order to get to them. Conditions may sometimes be steep and muddy- an average degree of fitness is required. The trek takes place in Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, one of the last remaining homes of the incredible mountain gorilla. In Bwindi Forest, you will stay in Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge, situated in a beautiful location with views of the Virunga Mountains. You can also choose to do an additional guided forest walk on the afternoon of your arrival in Bwindi. You will leave Uganda will unforgettable memories of your time with the gentle giants of Bwindi.
