Thandeka Game Reserve

Thandeka Reserve is located roughly 3 hours from Johannesburg. The 1600 hectare reserve hosts a diverse variety of wildlife, birds and plant life. Thandeka Lodge offers guests an intimate nature experience through the provision of a variety of activities. These include morning and afternoon game drives, guided bush walks and bird watching all led by qualified guides. A special touch is the sundowner stops which are usually at one of the attractive waterholes on the property. Guests are treated to savoury snacks and drinks whilst enjoying the euphoric atmosphere and African sunset. The reserve does not have Big 5 status; however, it provides guests the opportunity to see a number of antelope species, giraffe, zebra, white rhino and buffalo. A variety of good golf courses can be accessed nearby as well as properties with horse riding activities and an interesting cheetah sanctuary. Three beautiful third generation Timbavati white lions have recently been introduced to the reserve.
