Mkuze Falls Game Reserve is a breathtaking and picturesque reserve found in South Africa's KwaZulu Natal Province. It is made up a number of diverse ecosystems, including riverine bush, wetland, lowveld bushveld and montane grassland. The 12500 hectare reserve has beautiful Tamboti forests dotted about, and is surrounded by the Shembe Mountains. Wildlife abounds in the scenic reserve, and guests have the chance of seeing large numbers of general game, cheetah and a vast array of birds, of which there are over 400 species. The reserve is also home to the Big 5, and one has a good chance of seeing all of them apart from leopard, which although sometimes seen, remain shy and elusive. A number of large dams on the reserve make it possible for guests to be taken on fishing and boat trips, giving them the added benefit of seeing hippopotamus and water birds.
