Mashatu Game Reserve

Mashatu Game Reserve is located in Botswana’s Tuli region, at the confluence of the borders of Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe. This incredible wilderness region abounds with flora and fauna. It is known as the “Land of the Giants”, as it is home to several iconic “giant” species of plants and animals, including the majestic African elephant and the mighty lion. Here you will also find the giraffe, the world’s tallest mammal; the eland, the world’s largest antelope; the kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird; and the ostrich, the world’s largest bird. The diverse landscape, which is made up of open plains, grassland, marshlands and riverine forests, is dotted with massive baobab and Nyala berry trees. Over 350 bird species are found in Mashatu, including the lilac-breasted roller, Botswana’s national bird. Adventure safari activities offer exciting ways to explore the region, and include thrilling options such as walking safaris, horseback safaris and cycling safaris.
