The Lower Zambezi National Park lies adjacent to Zimbabwe’s Mana Pools forming a massive protected area along the game rich flood plains of the Zambezi River. There are numerous small safari and fishing camps in the area providing an ideal base from which to explore the park. Both game drives and canoe safaris are on offer in the park. The northern escarpment provides a dramatic back drop to the thickly vegetated riverine forests and broadleaf woodland. Great herds of elephant and buffalo congregate around the river especially in the dryer winter months. The predators are in force and the birdlife is exceptional, particularly along the river systems.
