The 7500 hectare Lalibela Game Reserve conservancy is situated alongside the N2 Highway near Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape in South Africa. The reserve covers a diverse range of habitat types, ranging from patches of acacia thickets, black wattle and fynbos, to large tracts of open grassland. These in turn help to support a high diversity of animal life. The thickly vegetated valleys are stunning, with distinctive indigenous yellowwood trees and vibrant bird life. Large areas of the reserve are dominated by open grassland testament to previous farming land uses. As it is a relatively small reserve, good game viewing of the larger African plains game can be expected, as well as reasonably high chances of seeing elephant, rhino and lion.
