Kapama Game Reserve is a privately owned reserve in South Africa, and as such, there are no other vehicles traversing the property. The 13000 hectares consists of old farmlands that have been converted for eco-tourism ventures that first took place as recently as 1987. The reserve boasts frequent Big 5 sightings - especially large herds of elephant and large numbers of impala, giraffe and other antelope. There are over 250 bird species during the summer months, making it a prime birding destination. The Klaserie River flows through the property and leopards are frequently sighted along the rivers edge. A very special treat for romantic couples visiting Kapama is the Romance Platform. This double story wooden platform can be booked for a night under the stars, while little luxuries such as mosquito nets, white linen, champagne and stunning sunsets enhance a complete bushveld experience.

Why we like it

Frequent Big 5 sightings; Exceptional birding; One-of-a-kind Romance Platform perfect for honeymooners
