Cradle Nature Reserve is a 3 000 hectare private reserve made up of pristine dolomite grasslands. This incredible wilderness is situated just 30 minutes away from the second-largest urban area in Africa, Johannesburg, as well as its sister city, Pretoria. Having been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Cradle is world-renowned for its archaeological and geological importance. The reserve offers paleontological tours to two major fossil exploration sites, alongside game drives and bush walks. Several species of antelope, giraffes, rhino and leopards all call the Cradle home, as well as 197 species of birds.
