Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve is situated in the South Africa's Cedarberg, which was declared a World Heritage Site. This is due to the recognition of historic bushman paintings, of which over 130 sites have been identified on the reserve. Suitably qualified and experienced guides take guests on informative walks to experience the magic of some of these sites, many of which appear to have been untouched by time. In addition, there is an amazing variety of flora to be found on the property. In August and September each year, many of the plants flower and the vista is stunning with intensely bright colours all around. The indigenous ‘Rooibos’ plant is endemic to the area from which rooibos tea is made. Although the reserve does not host the Big 5 (only the extremely elusive Cape Leopard is found on the reserve), the focus here is on nature itself. There is an abundance of lesser known and unusual creatures to keep nature enthusiasts occupied.
