Ants Nest Reserve is located on a 5000 hectare property in South Africa's magical Waterberg region. This is a horse lover’s heaven. Although several other activities (ranging from walks and mountain biking to game drives) are offered, it is exploring the reserve on horseback that makes Ant’s truly special. Becoming part of the natural world around you enables riders and horses to wander amongst game such as zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, buffalo and, if you’re lucky. a white rhino. It is completely different to watching game from the security of a vehicle or getting fleeting glimpses on foot. There are no elephant or lion on the reserve, which takes away the worry of being on horseback where dangerous game occurs. All levels of riders can be accommodated, from beginner to advanced, and there are over 60 horses to match any guest’s personality. The area has a great range of habitats, including rolling hills, ravines, and open plains, creating wonderful vistas.
