Xobega Island Camp, Okavango

The great value Xobega Island Camp is located in the Okavango Delta in Botswana, one of the world's most phenomenal nature and safari destinations. Situated on a tree-filled island among the Delta's lagoons and waterways, the camp is accessed by boat and is surrounded by wildlife, birdlife and spectacular natural beauty. The camp consists of 10 Meru-style canvas tents, each loacted among the trees, and featuring en-suite facilities and solar-powered lighting. The tents have open-air bucket showers and eco-loos, adding to the rustic atmosphere and providing a more authentic wilderness experience. Each tent is located a short distance from the camp's main area, which features a dining tent, lounge gazebos, and open-air boma with firepit. These areas are perfect for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful surrounds, in between game activities. Boating safaris are the primary activity at Xobega- taking guests on a unique adventure through the hippo-filled waterways that surround the camp. Guided bush walks and mokoro canoe safaris are also offered. The birdwatching on the island is spectacular, and enjoying sundowners on the water or an island is an unforgettable experience. The wildlife in the region is prolific, and includes the famous African Big 5.
