Umlani Bush Camp is a relaxed and informal bush camp in the heart of the game-rich Timbavati Nature Reserve. It is a rustic camp site made up of eight small reed huts with open air mesh-covered windows, providing a refreshing breeze and an orchestra of interesting sounds at night to fall asleep to. As soon as you arrive at Umlani, you are made to feel right at home. Here there is no divide between you and the surrounding nature. There is no electricity, but candles and lanterns sufficiently light the camp and huts at night. All local soft drinks and alcoholic beverages are included in the affordable daily rates, and guests merely need to help themselves to a drink from a well stocked chest fridge. The staff are friendly, the food is wholesome and the atmosphere is genuine and not overly commercialised, which is typical of many other safari lodges in the region.
