The PeakSpot Lodge is located on the slopes of Mount Sabyinyo in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. Northeast of Lake Kivu, one of the African Great Lakes, Mount Sabyinyo is an extinct volcano in the Virunga Mountains. The slopes of Mount Sabyinyo are a habitat for the Mountain Gorilla and are also home to various bird species. The camp provides comfortable accommodation in the form of en-suite single and double bungalows, suitable for solo travellers and couples. There is also a family-friendly two-bedroom cottage, as well as camping sites, where guests can pitch their own tents (or use one provided by the lodge). The lodge is full board, with delicious meals prepared on the premises using local ingredients. The family cottage has self-catering facilities for those who wish to prepare meals themselves. There are a host of activities on offer to guests at PeakSpot. Volcanoes National Park is one of only three places in the world where you can track mountain gorillas in their natural habitat- a truly unforgettable experience. Golden Monkey tracking is also offered. The region is a paradise for birding enthusiasts, and walks and hikes led by experienced naturalists are offered. You can visit the nearby caves, as well as get a taste of the local culture by embarking on community walks. Unwind after a day of exciting activities at the camp's eucalyptus sauna.
