The Highlands is a luxury safari camp, set on the edge of a forest in the wild and dramatic Ngorongoro Crater region in Tanzania. The camp is the highest altitude camp in the Ngorongoro Conservation area, and provides stunning views of the surrounding mountain landscape. Its eight tented suites are fashioned in the shape of a dome, and feature floor to ceiling windows that also afford spectacular views. Each suite has king-sized beds, en suite bathroom facilities, and wood burning stoves that provide warmth on cold winter evenings. The camp’s main area consists of an indoor fireplace area, a library, and a bar, all perfect for relaxing after a long day of exciting safari activties. The range of activities offered at The Highlands cannot be found anywhere else. Climb to the summit of the Olmoti Volcano, or descend to the floor of the Empakaai Crater to the famous flamingo lake. Enjoy traditional safari game drives and guided walks. Immerse yourself in the local culture with visits to local villages and communities.
