Set in peaceful, isolated surrounds, Terrace Bay Resort is a nature retreat with a difference. The unique lodge is located on a quiet stretch of coast in Namibia's mystical Skeleton Coast National Park, surrounded by the dunes of the Namib Desert. This area is renowned as one of the best places in the world for fishing and angling. Solitude-seekers will love going for walks along the coast, exploring the unique environment of the Skeleton Coast. The Skeleton Coast is so named because of the shipwrecks that can be found scattered along the beaches- reminders of past devastating weather conditions that have resulted in the world's biggest ship graveyard. The lodge features 20 en-suite double rooms, as well as two beach chalets that are perfect for families or small groups. There is a restaurant and bar, as well as a small shop and gas station. The main activity here is the world-class fishing- the waters are nutrient-rich and provide some of the best angling opportunities in the world. Guests can explore the river beds in the region, looking out for some of the wildlife species that are found in the park, including jackal, hyena, and sometimes even elephants. There are good birding opportunities as well.
