Tembe Tented Camp

Tembe Tented Camp is situated on the Tembe Elephant Reserve in the far north of KwaZulu-Natal, bordering on Mozambique. The camp consists of twelve tented suites situated under a forest canopy. There are five en-suite ‘Matriarch’ tents (ideal for families- sleeps four people comfortably), four smaller ‘Suni’ tents, also en-suite (perfect for couples), and three bush camp tents with shared ablution facilities. All the tented suites are comfortable, simply furnished, and privately situated. The focal point of the camp is the central campfire, and guests can relax on beautiful wooden decks under shady pod mahogany trees. Homely meals are offered under a thatched lapa or around the open camp fire. Summers can be very hot and a refreshing dip in the lodge’s pool offers guests welcome respite from the heat. Game drives are focused during daylight hours and usually return to camp shortly after sunset.
