Serondella Game Lodge, Thornybush

Serondella offers a comfortable retreat in four “rondavel” styled rooms, set between two watering holes. Three of the rondavels are well equipped and spacious, with a private deck and a view of one of the watering holes. The fourth is a family suite with 3 rooms and a private lounge, all secure behind an electrified fence. Alongside the large swimming pool is a well-stocked bar where the friendly bar staff are always ready to assist (however, this area is not secluded if you are seeking privacy). The main lodge building has a cosy lounge and tea and coffee station. It leads to the covered outdoor dining area, which has a view of the dry riverbed that runs in front of the lodge. When the weather permits, meals are served in the open air boma and the local chef is present for every meal to introduce the western-style dishes. The hosts at Serondella are charming, adding little touches to make your experience unique, and the service is friendly and attentive. Serondella means “place of the elephant” and these grey behemoths are often present at one of the watering holes.
