Naukluft Camp, Damaraland

Naukluft Campsite is located in the Namib-Naukluft National Park in Namibia, in the Damaraland region. This is an arid region of striking natural beauty. This remote desert region features huge, fascinating geological formations, steep cliffs, many rock pools and a number of hiking trails. The hiking trails range from shorter day hikes to longer multi-day trails. The wildlife is varied and abundant. The key specie is the Hartmann's mountain zebra, a species endemic to Namibia, for which the park was created to serve as a sanctuary. Leopard, baboon, African wildcat, caracal, aardwolf, gemsbok and duiker are just some of the other species that are found in the park. The camp is primarily suitable for campers, but does offer 6 en-suite guest rooms for those not wishing to camp out. There are 21 campsites, with a communal ablution facility that is kept clean and well-maintained. There is also a restaurant, bar and small kiosk on site. Guests can explore the geological formations in the area, take relaxing nature walks, and enjoy the superb birding opportunities in the area.
