Muchenje Safari Lodge is situated on the western side of Botswana’s Chobe National Park. Though this is the quieter side of the park, it is still just a 45-minute drive from Kasane, and two hours from the magnificent Victoria Falls.
The lodge is set at the top of an escarpment, overlooking the banks of the Chobe River and the impressive Chobe floodplains. The main building incorporates an elegant dining area, bar, library, and small gift shop. You can relax in comfy leather couches in the lounge or out on the deck, with panoramic views of the plains below. The lodge takes full advantage of the fantastic surroundings.
Muchenje features 11 thatched chalets, each privately laid out along the edge of the escarpment. The chalets are designed with “rustic luxury” in mind, and each balcony provides unique views of the Chobe floodplains.
You can expect warm and friendly hospitality at Muchenje. Explore the region on morning game drives or guided bush walks, as well as afternoon and even night game drives. Venture onto the Chobe River by boat to see active herds of elephants and other wildlife attracted to the water's edge.
