Mashovhela Bush Lodge

Mashovhela Lodge is tucked away in a luscious valley in the Soutpansberg mountain range in the northern Limpopo province. The camp is influenced by the local Venda culture with bright colours and ethnic furnishings adorning the rooms and main lodge. The camp is eco-friendly and achieved the prestigious Gold Leaf green rating through Wilderness Foundation’s Green Leaf programme. As such only solar power is used to provide intimate lighting in the rooms and at the main lodge. The facilities are aptly basic and the rooms are modestly furnished. The ten rooms are concentrated within a fairly small area so are not absolutely private. Family units and lofts in each room provide suitable accommodation for families with children. However there are no specific children-orientated activities so kids not interested in their natural surroundings might get a little bored. The Drumbeat restaurant provides delicious meals whilst local Venda singers and dancers provide an authentic cultural experience. Guests have the option of visiting local villages, ancient ruins, a museum, sacred Venda sites, and a tea estate.
