Machaba Camp is situated in the game rich Khwai area, on the eastern section of the Okavango Delta in Botswana. The word Machaba is the local Setswana word for the Sycamore Fig Tree, the tree of life. The Machaba tree is found in abundance in the Okavango Delta and most African riverine forests. Machaba trees are known for their abundant fruit, which feed a vast array of animals throughout the year. The camp consists of luxury safari tents, each with en-suite bathrooms and living areas, as well as romantic outdoor showers. There is a swimming pool to cool off in between safari activities, and massages are also available. Delicious meals are served in the dining area, and there is a library area where you can spend time reading and enjoying the views. All the tents are situated on the ground and the pathways to the tents meander between the large riverine trees. Activities offered at Machaba include tradtional day and night game drives, as well as unique mokoro canoe safaris and guided walks.
