Khwai Tented Camp is found bordering Botswana’s Moremi Game Reserve, near the famous Okavango Delta. The camp is located on the bank of a lagoon as it flows into the Khwai River, on a concession that is run by the local community. The camp is designed to fit in with the natural surrounds, and aims to have a minimal impact on the environment. It is made up of luxurious Meru-style tents, each perched on a wooden deck with wonderful views of the lagoon. The tents have en-suite bathrooms, alfresco bucket showers, and flushing toilets. The camp’s main area is made up of a comfortable lounge and dining room, furnished in both colonial and traditional-style. The camp offers its guests several exciting and adventurous ways to experience and enjoy the surrounding wilderness. Both day and night game drives are available, as well as guided walks. Night drives and walks are not normally allowed in the national parks or game reserves, meaning that guests at Khwai have a unique and exclusive opportunity to see the reserve’s amazing wildlife up close, including nocturnal animals.
