Khama Rhino Sanctuary is located in Botswana, near the town of Serowe. The reserve covers about 8585 hectares and is a conservation and community project that aims to protect rhinos and other wildlife species, as well as provide economic benefits to the local Botswana community through conservation and sustainable resource use. Besides black and white rhino, the sanctuary is home to a variety of other wildlife species that include giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, jackal and ostrich, and more than 230 bird species. The sanctuary is an excellent destination for a safari, with various accommodation options that include basic campsites, comfortable chalets, and dorm halls that can accommodate schools or large groups. The sanctuary can also host weddings or conferences. Traditional guided game drives provide the opportunity to get up close to the rhinos and other wildlife of the sanctuary. Guests can also opt for a self-drive safari or a nature walk. A thrilling and unique activity offered at Khama is the rhino tracking experience, led by qualified guides. There is also an educational centre which aims to demonstrate the importance of nature and conservation.
The sanctuary offers facilities for camping and self-catering; there is a restaurant for those who do not wish to prepare their own food.
