Gorges Lodge

Gorges Lodge has arguably the most spectacular views in Southern Afric. It offers a unique Victoria Falls experience from an idyllic base on the Batoka Gorge, 250 metres above the mighty Zambezi River. The main lodge is set on the very edge of the gorge, built on a stilted decking of indigenous hard wood, offering extraordinary views, right over the gorge into Zambia. The main lodge area consists of ten stone and thatch chalets, set in a lush indigenous garden with stunning views across the gorge and the pounding Zambezi River below. Each cottage boasts a private garden and decked veranda; the ideal place to watch the sun rise or set. The lodge is close enough to Victoria Falls for guests to enjoy all the activities that the area has to offer, such as elephant back safaris, white water rafting, bungee jumping, and a sunset houseboat cruise down the Zambezi River. Gorges Lodge is home to an incredible population of raptors (including nesting pairs of endangered black eagles), as well as a stunning array of butterflies, several tame bushbuck, baboons, and vervet monkeys.
