Fugitives’ Drift Lodge

Fugitives Drift lodge is a five star lodge located on the site of the original Rattray homestead in the KwaZulu Natal Battlefields region. This luxurious lodge offers eight spacious luxury air-conditioned en suite rooms with both inside and outside showers, a mini-fridge and a private viewing deck with spectacular views of the plains surrounding the Buffalo River gorge. Meals are served communally in the cosy and elegant dining room. Weather permitting guests can enjoy meals on the large main area viewing deck under the African skies overlooking magnificent vistas. A sparkling swimming pool, with fantastic views over Isandlwana and Rorkes’ Drift offers a relaxing and rejuvenating haven for the guests.Fugitives Drift lodge also features the Harford Library where guests can enjoy a good read over a cup of coffee and the Fugitives’ Drift Museum which houses pictures, newspapers,Stone Age tools and relics of the battlefields found over the years. Some of the activities offered include Battlefields tours; guided walks through Buffalo Gorge , fly fishing, tours to Mangeni Falls and to the Rorke’s Drift Arts and Crafts Centre.
