Chitake Tented Camp is located in Zimbabwe, in the wild Chitake region on the edge of Mana Pools National Park. This remarkable camp offers a truly authentic wilderness experience, with thrilling up-close wildlife encounters- it is not for the faint-hearted! The region teems with wildlife species, from playful baboons to majestic elephants, and even the notoriously elusive leopard. The lions of the Chitake area are known for their hunting skills, and you may just have the chance to witness a kill close to the camp. The accommodation is rustic yet comfortable, and consists of spacious Meru-style tents with en-suite bathroom facilities. The safari bucket showers are charming! The camp operates on solar power and meals are served outside, adding to the genuine bushveld atmosphere. There are no game drives, and all safari activities are done on foot- a unique, thrilling experience. The camp is only one of a handful in the region, and with only a maximum of six guests at a time allowed at the camp, you are assured of an exclusive, intimate experience.
Why we like it
A stay at Chitake promises a unique and thrilling experience. Wildlife encounters with game often happen very close to the camp, and the scarcity of other camps in the region ensures an exclusive bushveld experience.
