Chapungu Tented Camp, Thornybush

Chapungu’s eight spacious tents are spread out beneath tall trees, along a dry river bed. The tents are raised on short stilts, and have an expansive wooden deck that includes a romantic outdoor spa bath complete with bush views. Tents complement the surroundings with a spacious bedroom and indoor shower overlooking the riverine forest where birds and reptiles frequent. As there is no room for an extra bed in the tents, it’s not ideal for families sharing with younger children. The generous, natural design swimming pool forms the focal point of the main lodge and offers a spacious relaxation area. There are two comfortable lounge areas and a well-stocked bar staffed throughout the afternoon and evening. Meals are jovial, served around a communal table and the rangers join guests when possible. The camps perimeter single-strand fence does not stop smaller antelope and carnivores coming through and as such it is necessary to be escorted by a ranger if exploring the camp at ground level.
