The Central Kalahari Game Reserve is located int he centre of Botswana. This desert landscape, while appearing harsh and barren, actually teems with fascinating desert-adapted flora and fauna. These include everything from large predators like lion and leopard, to smaller species such as springbok, zebra, and the ferocious honey badger. The birdlife is plentiful as well. The reserve is the ultimate destination for those looking for true remoteness and wilderness. There are a handful of very basic campsites in the reserve, the perfect accommodation option for those looking to explore the region on a self-drive safari. The sites have only the simplest of facilities, such as pit latrines, bucket showers, and borehole water. Visitors must bring all the supplies they need with them- this is, of course, only part of the wilderness experience.
