This flagship lodge is nestled in a patch of pristine woodland just west of Ngamo on the edge of the south eastern corner of Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. The lodge is unique in its style and design, and has at its centre an imposing and age-old Camelthorn tree. On the edge of the Ngamo Plain, and strategically placed to explore the remote south eastern section of the park, Camelthorn offers a spectacular wilderness experience, as it is located in one of Hwange’s last remaining corners of protected woodland. Set amongst Camelthorn and Ebony tree thickets, this stunning lodge offers huge glass fronts overlooking small watering holes and bird feeders that attract smaller and less destructive woodland creatures; bushbuck, duiker, mongoose and squirrel – not to mention a plethora of colorful bird life. Less than a kilometre away from the lodge is an underground hide in front of a waterhole - camouflaged as a termite heap and buried under an ancient Mitswiri tree, the photographic opportunities are dramatic. Guests have the option to go for guided walks, all-day game drives or visit the local village.
