Boulder Baai Camp Site, Namaqua
Renowned for its stunning, striking carpets of flowers that bloom after the spring rains, the Namaqua National Park in South Africa is one of nature's greatest spectacles. Butterflies, birds and long-tongued flies dart around among the flowers, seemingly overwhelmed by the abundance and diversity. The Speckled Cape Tortoise, the world's smallest, is found here. A number of rustic campsites can be found dotted along the coastline of the park. These camps aim to maintain the wilderness character of this coastline, therefore guests bring everything they may need for camping. The sites have no water, ablution, or cellphone reception. The Boulder Baai Campsite is 45km from Groen River Gate, and has 6 sites. There are two enviro loos at the camp. The camp has large open areas and is particularly suited to groups. There is a long white beach just south of the camp. Activities on offer include hiking, walking, nature trails and picnic sites. This is the perfect place to truly experience the unique environment of Namaqua and its secluded beaches.
