Matemwe Lodge is a luxury beach lodge located on the tranquil coastline of Tanzania’s Zanzibar island. Overlooking a lagoon, it exudes and relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. Consisting of 12 beach chalets, each situated in lush tropical gardens, and each with a private veranda looking out over the ocean. The rooms are most luxurious and perfect for relaxing, with sofas and hammocks on the verandas. Two rooms have private plunge pools, while all the rooms have en suite facilities and mosquito netting on the beds. The rooms are also air-conditioned. Guests can relax at the lodge’s swimming pool, which has a wonderful view of the ocean, and enjoy cocktails at the poolside bar. The open-air restaurant serves up delicious meals, with seafood a specialty. There are plenty of activities on offer, from snorkeling, diving, fishing, and kayaking, to local village tours and trips to Stone Town to experience the local culture.
