Home to the lofty Maasai tribe, Tanzania is the largest country in East Africa and is famed for its superb wildlife viewing. It has vast grasslands supporting prolific herds of plains game targeted by Africa’s large predators. Tanzania is not just about a safari - the snow-capped tip of Mount Kilimanjaro awaits you following which a trip to the paradise islands of Pemba and Zanzibar helps weary travellers revitalize mind, body and soul. The Great Rift Valley cuts through the land creating some of Africa’s largest lakes such as Lake Tanganyika. Here some of the oldest skeletal remains of humankind have been found. With strong Bantu and Arabic roots, Tanzania is equally rich in history and culture as it is in natural splendour. This is Africa at its best.
