Malawi provides a unique African travel offering. The focal point is the beautiful Lake Malawi which stretches from south to north the entire length of the country. Superb canoe, snorkelling and diving safaris can be had in this freshwater lake. An explosion of colourful cichlid species swim around you beneath the turquoise waters. There are several up and coming national parks in the country and some fantastic safari camps. The people are incredibly friendly and its authentic Africa at its best. Malawi is a great holiday destination for solo travellers, couple and families. Malawi is also a popular backpacker route and several overland trips head up and down its coastline every month. However it is still an unspoilt destination and offers solitude, peace and tranquillity in most places.
