Kenya is the classic African safari destination and generally with good quality tourism operators. Huge herds of plains game including the famous wildebeest migration, flamingo-clad lakes, exceptional birding and diverse scenery attract tourists from all over the world. Kenya has an interesting history with a diverse mix of cultures that make up its population. Nairobi is the largest city in east Africa and is the perfect base to start any safari with connecting flights to most major cities around the globe. Kenya also has superb beaches and small islands along its warm Indian Ocean coastline where exceptional fishing and diving safaris can be enjoyed. This is a great add-on to any safari to this part of the world. Given its proximity, Kenya can be easily linked with a trip to Tanzania or Gorilla / Primate trekking in Uganda and Rwanda.
