A traditional game drive is a classic way to experience a safari in Africa. The Pilanesberg National Park in South Africa spans over 55 000 hectares; its open grassland plains and rolling wooded valleys are home to a wide variety of wildlife species. This includes all 5 iconic members of the African Big 5: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. You can also hope to spot zebra, giraffe, cheetah, hyena, jackal, and hippo, among others. The park is also a birding hotspot, with over 300 recorded species. The park is also malaria-free. These guided game drives depart daily, and take place in 25-seater open game drive vehicles. Guests can also request private vehicles for their game drive, which will depart whenever they require. Another game drive option is a game drive with breakfast, lunch or dinner served at a lodge in the park. After the dinner, spotlights are used on the return game drive, allowing guests the opportunity to spot the nocturnal wildlife of the Pilanesberg. Enquire for more information on the various game drive options.
